In a bid to keep costs down, Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares opted to build the Junior in Tychy, Poland, instead of Milan, Italy.

This decision shaved roughly €10,000 off the price tag of the MiTo’s successor. It’s worth noting that Stellantis doesn’t currently manufacture CMP/e-CMP platform vehicles in Italy, so building the Junior there would have required significant factory upgrades.

On a separate note, Alfa Romeo has bumped up the power output of the Junior Veloce from the originally advertised 177 kilowatts (241 horsepower) to a more impressive 207 kilowatts (280 horsepower).

While the torque remains at 345 Nm, the Junior Veloce is exclusive to European markets for now and won’t be available in the United States. This subcompact SUV features a front-mounted electric motor and promises to deliver the most responsive steering in its class, according to Alfa Romeo.

Alfa Romeo, a brand known for facing financial challenges, has injected some serious performance upgrades into the Junior Veloce.

This sporty variant boasts a lowered suspension, enhanced anti-roll bars, larger brakes, and a limited-slip differential all working together to deliver a more dynamic driving experience.

The powertrain also gets a significant boost, bringing its output closer to Alfa Romeo’s other high-performance offerings like the Tonale Veloce, Giulia Veloce, and Stelvio Veloce.

This move highlights Alfa Romeo’s commitment to providing a thrilling driving experience, even for those who might not be interested in a front-wheel drive electric vehicle.
