The wait for the official reveal of the 2025 BMW M5 Touring continues after its sedan counterpart’s debut in June, expectations are high for this high-performance wagon.

Scheduled to arrive this fall, the M5 Touring is poised to be a direct competitor to the Audi RS 6 Avant. Taking design cues from the already-released 5 Series Touring, the M5 wagon will offer a familiar silhouette with a sportier edge.

Expect a longer roofline for increased cargo capacity and some unique tweaks to the rear end to differentiate it from the standard Touring. Under the hood, the M5 Touring will borrow the impressive powertrain from the M5 sedan.

This plug-in hybrid system pairs a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine with an electric motor for a combined output of 717 horsepower and a staggering 738 lb-ft of torque. Matching the XM with a slightly different tuning, this setup promises exhilarating performance.

Speculation circles the upcoming BMW M5 Touring’s performance. While the Audi RS 6 Avant rockets to sixty in 3.3 seconds thanks to its powerful V8, the M5 Touring is expected to be slightly slower, reaching the same speed in around 3.5 seconds.

This difference is likely due to its plug-in hybrid powertrain, a new direction for the M5. Despite the secrecy surrounding the official design, talented digital artists have been busy creating realistic renderings of the 2025 M5 Touring.

One such example comes from SRK Designs on YouTube. Their CGI closely resembles what we expect the final product to look like, featuring a sleek and sporty wagon design.
