Polestar is encouraging owners of affected vehicles to schedule a service appointment to receive the update and ensure their car’s rearview camera functions properly. The issue involves the rearview camera potentially displaying an incorrect image, which can be a major safety hazard while reversing.
To address this concern, Polestar is rolling out a software update. Dealers can update affected vehicles as of July 1st, and car owners will be able to get the update over-the-air by July 19th.
While official recall notices from Polestar will arrive around mid-August, you can take proactive steps. Head to the Polestar website and enter your vehicle’s 17-character VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) to see if your car is part of the recall.
