Revealed at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Red Bull RB17 hypercar marks a departure from the company’s usual Formula One domain. This street-legal beast isn’t just inspired by F1; it boasts design and performance figures that rival the most elite hypercars.

Borrowing elements from the aerodynamically optimized machines Endurance Championship, the RB17 features an aggressive body with a sharp V-shaped nose, a canopy-style cockpit for a unique driving experience, and sculpted fenders that channel airflow for superior downforce.

A massive front splitter and rear wing assembly complete the aerodynamic package, ensuring the RB17 carves through corners with exceptional grip. The mastermind behind this aerodynamic marvel is none other than Adrian Newey, the engineering genius who has created championship-winning F1 cars for Williams, McLaren, and Red Bull.

Newey’s expertise translates into the RB17’s lightweight construction. Utilizing a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis, the RB17 achieves a remarkable curb weight of under 900 kg, making it significantly lighter than even endurance racing prototypes. This translates to a power-to-weight ratio that promises exhilarating performance.

Speaking of power, the RB17 is propelled by a screaming, naturally aspirated V10 engine. This high-revving powerhouse boasts a 15,000-rpm redline, a testament to its focus on pure performance.

While torque figures remain under wraps, the headline-grabbing output is a monstrous 1,200 horsepower. With this kind of muscle under the hood, Red Bull promises the RB17 will deliver lap times that wouldn’t be out of place in Formula One, along with a top speed exceeding 350 kilometers per hour.

A marvel of power and exclusivity, the Red Bull RB17 hypercar is a dream machine for track enthusiasts with a limited production run of only 50 units. The brainchild of F1 design legend Adrian Newey, the RB17 was revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and is anticipated to be a fast sell-out with its highly customizable interiors and a range of bespoke options.

Owning an RB17 goes beyond acquiring a car; it grants access to an exclusive customer program featuring exhilarating track events on world-renowned circuits. While the price tag remains under wraps, the RB17 promises a million-dollar experience built for speed and shared exhilaration.

This two-seater beast marks Newey’s latest venture in road car design, following his successful collaboration on the Aston Martin Valkyrie and its track-focused AMR Pro and Le Mans Hypercar variants.

With the RB17, Newey cements his place among a prestigious group of F1 designers who have transcended the racetrack to leave their mark on high-performance road cars. Production of the RB17 is set to begin in 2025, so hopeful owners won’t have to wait too long to experience the thrill.
