Porsche is bolstering its electric Macan offerings with two exciting new variants. Drivers seeking a focus on lightweight performance can look forward to the rear-wheel drive Macan. This new model sheds pounds compared to its all-wheel drive sibling, the Macan 4, without sacrificing power.
It achieves this feat through a combination of its 100 kWh battery pack and a shared rear axle with the Macan 4, mustering an impressive 335 horsepower. With launch control engaged, an overboost function temporarily pushes output to 355 horsepower, complemented by a maximum torque of 415 lb-ft.
This translates to a thrilling driving experience, launching the car from zero to 60 mph in a brisk 5.4 seconds and reaching a top speed of 136 mph. Further diversifying the electric Macan lineup is the introduction of the Macan 4S.
This new model fills the gap between the base Macan 4 and the top-of-the-line Macan Turbo, catering to drivers who desire a balance between performance and range. Porsche has also revealed an all-new off-road design package available for all four electric Macan variants, allowing drivers to personalize their SUV for a more adventurous aesthetic.
Starting with a focus on performance, the new generation of the Porsche Macan boasts an impressive electric powertrain. The Macan 4S leads the charge with a rear-axle motor and a powerful inverter, resulting in a combined output of 442 hp, reaching up to 509 hp with Launch Control.
This translates to a blistering 0-60 mph time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 149 mph. Pricing reflects the upgraded technology, with the Macan starting at $75,300 and the Macan 4S at $84,900 (both excluding destination and handling charges).
Both Macan trims come equipped with advanced suspension systems for a comfortable and dynamic driving experience. The standard Adaptive Air Suspension with PASM electronic damping control ensures a smooth ride, while the optional Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) and rear-axle steering further enhance handling.
Notably, even the base Macan RWD benefits from the air suspension and PASM, with rear-axle steering available as an add-on. To raise the visual appeal of the new Macan, Porsche introduces Slate Grey Neo, a fresh exterior color option.
New 20-inch Macan S wheels also join the lineup. For those who crave off-road capability, an exciting design package is available. This package includes a redesigned front bumper with an improved approach angle and increased ground clearance for tackling tough terrain.
The package offers a range of styling options, including front bumper, side skirts, diffuser panels, and roof railings, along with 21-inch wheels available in Vesuvius Grey or a color matching the car’s exterior.
