Two years after its debut in the US, the third-generation Chevrolet Colorado has finally arrived in South Korea. Unlike its American counterpart, the Korean market only offers the off-road-focused Z71 trim.
This single configuration comes with a hefty price tag of 72,790,000 won (approximately $52,700), surpassing the starting price of the ZR2 model in the US. While the US version boasts 18-inch wheels as standard, the South Korean model ups the ante with 20-inch alloys, both finished in Dark Android.
Under the hood, the 2.7-liter turbocharged engine delivers 310 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque, slightly less than its American sibling’s output. Despite these differences, the Colorado Z71 offers a compelling package for South Korean consumers seeking a capable midsize pickup truck.
The South Korean-spec Chevrolet Colorado Z71, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, boasts a maximum payload of 349.2 kilograms and a towing capacity of 3,492 kilograms.
While its fuel efficiency of 8.1 liters per 100 kilometers might seem impressive, it’s crucial to note that this figure is based on the WLTP standard, which differs from the EPA’s more realistic estimation.
A limited-run Z71-X variant offers additional features like unique styling elements and premium interior appointments. Buyers can also opt for a Technology Pack that bundles advanced driver assistance systems and a premium audio setup.
