Genesis is gearing up to reveal a new concept, dubbed Magma, which is rumored to be a large sedan. Contrary to expectations of a simply redesigned G90 with flashy paint and wheels, the Korean Herald suggests a more radical approach with a dedicated chassis and frame.

This hints at a performance-focused model distinct from the luxury-oriented G90. While details on the powertrain remain scarce, a potent setup beyond the G90’s 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 is anticipated.

Although a V8 is unlikely, a hybridized V6 or even a fully electric variant cannot be ruled out. Given Genesis’s electric vehicle advancements and the previous Electrified G80 and GV60 Magma concepts, a zero-emission powertrain is also a strong possibility.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N reigns supreme as the Hyundai Motor Group’s electric performance leader, eclipsing the GV60 and Electrified GV80 in both power and torque. Its dual electric motors, fed by an 84-kWh battery, generate a standard 601 horsepower, explosively surging to 641 horsepower with the N Grin Boost function.

Torque similarly escalates from 545 to 568 pound-feet in this mode, propelling the compact crossover from zero to 60 mph in a blistering 3.25 seconds with launch control activated. Despite its impressive acceleration and 162 mph top speed, this performance comes at the cost of range, with the EPA estimating just 221 miles.

The Ioniq 5 N’s exhilarating capabilities are matched by its hefty price tag, starting at $66,100, while Genesis’ G90, offering 375 to 409 horsepower, commands a premium of $89,200 to $99,500.
