BMW has sharpened the already potent M2 Coupe for the 2025 model year. The second-generation sports car, internally codenamed G87, now boasts a more muscular 473 horsepower engine, surpassing its predecessor’s 453 ponies.
While torque remains at 406 lb-ft for manual transmissions, automatic-equipped models enjoy a boost to 443 lb-ft, resulting in quicker acceleration. Complementing the performance upgrades are fresh exterior colors, a cutting-edge iDrive 8.5 infotainment system, and refined interior aesthetics.
However, this enhanced package comes at a price, with a starting MSRP of $64,900 excluding destination charges. To unlock the M2’s full potential, buyers can opt for the $9,900 Carbon Package, which includes performance-enhancing features like carbon-ceramic brakes and a lightweight carbon-fiber roof.
Interior customization for the M2 Coupe revolves around three distinct Vernasca leather upholstery options: black with red accents, black with M division colors, and black with blue stitching. Exterior paint choices include three no-cost non-metallic colors: Alpine White, Sao Paulo Yellow, and Zandvoort Blue.
Conversely, a wider range of 11 metallic finishes incurs additional costs, ranging from a modest $650 to a substantial $3,000. While the base metallic options like Black Sapphire, Portimao Blue, and Brooklyn Gray are relatively affordable, premium choices such as Frozen Pure Gray and Twilight Purple Pearl command a significantly higher price.
Notably, the M2 Coupe, alongside other 2 Series models, hails from BMW’s Mexican plant and will transition to electric vehicle production in 2027. With the car’s anticipated fall release, official EPA fuel economy figures remain unavailable.
