While Ford’s Mustang GTD chases a sub-seven-minute Nurburgring lap record, enthusiasts are unleashing the potential of older Mustangs. Even without extreme modifications, the previous-generation Shelby GT500 is a supercar contender.

With a 760 horsepower, 5.2-liter V8, it already sprints to 60 mph in around three seconds. Remarkably, this power behemoth is only 40 horsepower shy of the significantly more expensive Mustang GTD.

Considering its performance and the fact that used GT500s command a fraction of the new model’s price, it remains a compelling choice for muscle car enthusiasts, even in the face of the new Mustang generation.

A previous-generation Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, allegedly boasting a monstrous 970 horsepower, has recently ignited the internet with a jaw-dropping video showcasing its blistering acceleration.

Filmed on a public road a practice we strongly condemn the clip reveals the tuned muscle car’s astonishing ability to demolish the 62-124 mph and 60-130 mph benchmarks.

This isn’t your average pony car; with a power figure that eclipses the stock model by a significant margin, it’s a force to be reckoned with, capable of humbling even the most exotic supercars in a straight line.
