Despite a disappointing 21% year-over-year sales decline in Q2 2024, FCA US LLC, the American branch of Stellantis, is finding reasons for optimism. Several FCA brands, like Ram, Dodge, Chrysler, Alfa Romeo, and Fiat, actually experienced sales growth compared to the previous quarter.
While Jeep sales dipped, Stellantis enjoyed a major win in the plug-in hybrid market, capturing four of the top five positions. The Jeep Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe secured the top two spots, followed by the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid and Dodge Hornet. This strong showing in the PHEV segment indicates that customer interest remains, but FCA needs to optimize its vehicle lineup to better cater to current market demands.
This is where the digital car design enters the picture. Creatives in this field are brimming with innovative ideas, and one such enthusiast holds a particular fondness for FCA’s American brands, particularly Chrysler and Dodge. Enter Nihar Mazumdar, a digital artist and entrepreneur from San Antonio, Texas.
Determined to reignite the sales spark for these iconic marques, Mazumdar has started on a project to envision a new range of unofficial, hypothetical models that could leverage Stellantis’ extensive resources and propel Chrysler and Dodge back to their former sales glory.
Facing a potential decline in minivan popularity despite Pacifica’s current sales dominance, a CGI artist has reimagined a bolder future for Chrysler. This conceptual vision extends far beyond the minivan segment, proposing a comprehensive and exciting lineup.
Chrysler’s familiar nameplate, the Pacifica, receives a modern makeover in this reimagining. Drawing inspiration from the classic Town & Country’s design language, the new Pacifica would retain a sense of heritage while embracing a sleek, SUV-inspired aesthetic. This approach caters to the evolving automotive world.
The reimagined lineup doesn’t stop there. Beloved models from Chrysler’s past make a return with a contemporary twist. The iconic PT Cruiser gets a second life as the 2026 Chrysler PTC hatchback, leveraging the Stellantis EMP platform for a modern foundation. Similarly, the sporty Crossfire gets a makeover, transforming into a high-riding compact hatchback that captures the essence of the original’s spirit in a package suited for today’s drivers.
The mid-sized segment is also revitalized with the return of the Sebring. This time around, the Sebring takes design cues from the luxurious DS Automobiles brand, injecting a dose of European flair into the Chrysler portfolio.
Finally, the Chrysler Imperial makes a grand reappearance as a full-size luxury sedan. This reimagined flagship aims for the Tesla Model S, Mercedes EQS, and Lucid Air, offering two rows of spacious seating and an impressive length that rivals the Jeep Wagoneer L. This bold interpretation of the Imperial signifies Chrysler’s return to the top tier of the automotive world.
