Despite speculation that its size, pedestrian safety concerns, and weight would prevent its entry into Europe, the Tesla Cybertruck has made its debut on the Old Continent. A Tesla Advisor and Events Champion, Anthony Martin, shared images of a Cybertruck with a Czech Republic license plate on LinkedIn, followed by similar sightings in Poland and Austria.
While European homologation standards, particularly regarding pedestrian safety, pose challenges for the Cybertruck’s boxy design, these vehicles seem to have been registered as trucks, bypassing stricter car regulations.
However, the exact registration process and whether it complies with all European standards remains unclear. Tesla’s Cybertruck, particularly the tri-motor Cyberbeast boasting 845 horsepower, is a behemoth weighing in at 3,104 kilograms, aligning with European passenger car weight regulations.
Despite its size and Elon Musk’s acknowledgment of European and Asian registration complexities, the Cybertruck has made unexpected appearances across the continent. From a Danish tour stop to a Slovakian lake incident testing its Wade Mode, the electric truck has captured attention. While Tesla targets international certification in 2025, these early sightings hint at a growing desire for the angular electric pickup in Europe.
