Porsche is gearing up to reveal the next iteration of its iconic 911 Turbo S, and recent spy shots of a camouflaged prototype offer a look into the upcoming model. Despite the heavy disguise, subtle changes are evident, signaling a refresh for the high-performance convertible.
The new 911 Turbo S Cabriolet, captured undergoing testing at the Nurburgring, showcases updated headlights aligning with the rest of the 992.2 range, along with a revised front bumper featuring larger side air intakes and a narrower central one. A more prominent apron suggests enhanced aerodynamics and increased downforce.
While the side profile remains largely untouched, the rear end receives a makeover with a new bumper, reshaped wing, different diffuser, fresh reflectors, and oval exhaust tips. The prototype rides on five-spoke front and V-shaped rear wheels, both equipped with central locking.
Camouflaged prototypes of the upcoming Porsche 911 Turbo S reveal a heavily disguised exterior concealing a spartan interior featuring bucket seats and a roll cage, likely for engineering and safety purposes.
Despite limited visibility, the cockpit is expected to mirror the 992.2 lineup with a 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster and enhanced smartphone connectivity. The current 911 Turbo S boasts a potent 3.8-liter flat-six engine delivering 640 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, propelling the Cabriolet from 0 to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package.
While the powertrain for the facelifted model remains shrouded in secrecy, rumors suggest a possible hybrid setup increasing output to nearly 700 horsepower. Alternatively, Porsche could retain a purely internal combustion engine. Regardless, the new 911 Turbo S is anticipated to debut late this year or early next, with U.S. sales commencing in 2026.
