Ford has quietly revealed the 2025 Mustang lineup without the usual fanfare of a press release, opting instead to simply update pricing on its website. While EcoBoost models retain their 2024 price tags, the V8-powered GT and its higher trims have seen significant increases.
The most notable change is the now standard 10-speed automatic transmission, previously an optional extra. However, enthusiasts will need to dig deeper for optional features like active exhaust and Brembo brakes, which have become more expensive.
Leather/vinyl upholstery and dual-zone climate control are now standard on the GT Fastback. Ford has significantly increased the starting price of its performance-oriented 2025 Mustang Dark Horse models.
The standard Dark Horse now commands $63,280, a $3,045 jump from the previous year, while the Dark Horse Premium has seen a steeper price hike to $68,275, up from $64,630.
These figures represent the manufacturer’s suggested retail prices, excluding dealer fees, destination charges, and optional extras. Notably, the top-tier Dark Horse Premium now nearly matches the base price of the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, a mid-engined sports car, which starts at $68,300.
Despite the price increase, the Dark Horse retains its potent 5.0-liter V8 engine producing 500 horsepower and 418 lb-ft of torque, while the Corvette Stingray offers up to 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque with optional performance upgrades.
