The newly launched Audi A5 and S5 have quickly captured the imagination of digital artists, who have been busy reimagining the models as coupes and convertibles body styles Audi has surprisingly abandoned.
Unlike its rivals, Mercedes and BMW, which continue to offer coupe and convertible variants in their respective classes, Audi has opted for a streamlined lineup consisting solely of a liftback sedan and a wagon.
This decision is part of a broader strategy to replace the outgoing A4, which has been rebadged as the A5 to accommodate the Sportback body style. While the coupe and convertible market may be shrinking, Audi’s focus on the practical sedan and versatile wagon aligns with evolving consumer preferences.
Built on the updated MLB Evo platform, the new A5 boasts a spacious interior, aggressive styling, and advanced technology, including a customizable passenger display. The 2025 Audi S5 lineup is set to expand beyond the current sedan model.
While the base A5 range offers a variety of powertrains including a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine in two states of tune and a turbodiesel option with mild-hybrid technology for European markets, the performance-oriented S5 exclusively features a 3.0-liter V6 engine paired with quattro all-wheel drive and a dual-clutch transmission.
This powertrain delivers a robust 362 horsepower, propelling the S5 with impressive acceleration and handling. Adding to the excitement, digital artist Theottle has envisioned a potential S5 Coupe based on the existing sedan, featuring extended doors, revised rear windows, and wider rear fenders. This virtual concept maintains the core design elements of the current S5 while offering a sportier, coupe-like silhouette.
