Genesis is currently going through a complex development world, juggling the launch of the performance-oriented Magma sub-brand with the creation of entirely new models. Amidst this flurry of activity, the Electrified GV70 emerges as a pivotal project, positioned to replace its gasoline-powered predecessor.

This upcoming electric SUV, however, is not a clean-sheet design but rather a mid-cycle refresh similar to the recent update to the standard GV70. Given this close relationship, the Electrified GV70 is expected to closely mirror its gasoline-powered sibling in terms of design and interior layout, including the signature expansive display.

Yet, the heavily camouflaged prototype has sparked speculation about the extent of the changes. While it’s plausible that Genesis is simply playing it safe by disguising a familiar design, there’s also the intriguing possibility of hidden surprises beneath the wraps, such as unexpected styling elements or potentially groundbreaking technological advancements.

The current model’s dashboard is expected to be replaced by a modern dual-screen setup, combining a digital instrument cluster with a larger infotainment display. While the cabin architecture, including the center console and steering wheel, is likely to remain familiar, Genesis could introduce refined materials and upholstery options to raise the luxury experience.

The electrified powertrain, currently delivering 429 horsepower, is anticipated to carry over, but improvements in battery technology could lead to a substantial increase in driving range, addressing one of the current model’s limitations.

With the base model starting at $66,950 and the top-tier Prestige trim reaching $73,750, it’s reasonable to expect a price bump for the refreshed Electrified GV70, which is rumored to arrive as a 2026 model-year vehicle.
