Ford has answered Hyundai’s recent refresh of its Tucson and Santa Cruz with a significant update to its compact pickup, the Maverick. While the Bronco Sport remains untouched for now, the Maverick, already a sales leader in its segment, has received a substantial makeover.
Key enhancements include a larger, more modern infotainment screen, a bolder front fascia for a more assertive look, and the introduction of a dedicated Tremor off-road trim.
These changes, coupled with additional refinements, position the 2025 Maverick to further solidify its dominance in the compact pickup market, while putting pressure on competitors to keep up.
Ford’s Maverick lineup has expanded with the introduction of the 2025 model, featuring fresh aesthetics, upgraded technology, and a new performance-oriented trim. The Maverick Lobo, a long-awaited addition to the range, pays homage to sporty pickup trucks of the 1990s.
Equipped with a potent 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine, a unique design, refined handling, and a raised suspension, the Lobo targets a different audience than the off-road-focused Tremor. Its distinctive black aero wheels and a premium price tag of $40,495 further set it apart.
While the Lobo has generated excitement, it hasn’t been universally praised. Digital artists, eager to envision alternative versions, have begun sharing their creations.
Among them is Jim, known as jlord8, who has proposed a single-cab Maverick with an extended bed, a configuration currently absent from the real-world model.
