Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) finds itself in a precarious position. Once a formidable player in the American automotive market, the company has experienced a significant decline in sales and market share.

Its current lineup, consisting primarily of the Mirage, Mirage G4, Outlander Sport, Eclipse Cross, Outlander, and Outlander PHEV, has proven insufficient to compete effectively in a highly competitive world.

The company’s struggles have been exacerbated by the lack of significant product launches in recent years. However, there’s a flicker of hope on the horizon. MMNA has revealed plans for a refreshed Outlander SUV for the 2025 model year. This strategic move aligns with the company’s broader Momentum 2030 business plan, which aims to revitalize the brand and regain lost ground.

The success of the redesigned Outlander could be crucial in determining the trajectory of MMNA’s future. Unfortunately, the company’s decision to discontinue the Mirage and Mirage G4 models for the 2025 model year raises concerns about its commitment to the entry-level segment. These vehicles have served as affordable options for many buyers, and their absence could further erode MMNA’s market position.

Mitsubishi has refreshed its SUV lineup for 2025, with the Outlander taking center stage. Building upon the strong foundation of the 2022 model, the 2025 Outlander receives a mid-cycle update that refines its exterior and raises its interior with premium materials and design.

While the Outlander Plug-In Hybrid carries over the core elements that made it successful, it now offers standard heated front seats across all trims, a heated steering wheel, and a panoramic sunroof for the SEL model.

Both Outlander models benefit from expanded complimentary services through Mitsubishi’s My Mitsubishi Connect platform, including extended Safeguard and Remote Services trials.

The Eclipse Cross and Outlander Sport also receive updates to enhance their appeal. Complete details, including pricing and specific feature lists, for all models, will be revealed closer to their respective launches in early 2025.
