Marking a fresh start after its recall-plagued predecessor, GMC reveals the significantly revamped 2025 Terrain. Sharing its platform with the Chevrolet Equinox, this third-generation compact SUV boasts a bolder design inspired by GMC’s trucks.
A massive upright grille dominates the front fascia, flanked by sleek headlights that echo the design in the back. While the base Elevation trim rolls on 17-inch wheels, higher-end models like the Denali will sport larger 19-inch or even 20-inch options.
Inside, the Terrain gets a major tech upgrade with a new 11-inch digital instrument cluster and a dominating 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The 2025 GMC Terrain is a significant upgrade from its predecessor.
Standard features include Google Assistant, while premium options like a surround-view camera, digital rearview mirror, wireless charging, and a power liftgate are available. Safety has been bolstered with additions such as Blind Zone Steering Assist and Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking.
Powering the Terrain is a familiar 1.5-liter turbocharged engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive comes standard, with front-wheel drive to follow.
Off-road enthusiasts will appreciate the AT4 trim’s lifted suspension and all-terrain tires, while the Denali offers a more luxurious experience with features like Smart Frequency Dampers. The Terrain Elevation will launch later this year, with the AT4 and Denali arriving in 2025. Pricing details have yet to be released.
