General Motors has issued a recall for a small number of 2024 Buick Envision SUVs due to a potential safety hazard.
The recall affects vehicles produced between September 2023 and July 2024 and is related to the all-weather floor liners.
In some cases, the driver-side floor liner can interfere with the throttle pedal, causing it to become stuck in a depressed position. This can lead to unintended acceleration.
To address this problem, Buick dealers have been instructed to modify the liner rather than replace it entirely. As a result, owners will be reimbursed for the original cost of their all weather floor liners. Those who no longer want the liners can return them for a refund.
The Envision, a compact crossover manufactured in China, is based on the same platform as the Cadillac XT4. Equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and a nine-speed automatic transmission, the Envision offers a fuel economy of 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
