Cadillac took center stage in July with a significant refresh for the 2025 Escalade. Despite being primarily an aesthetic update, the upgrades were extensive, touching both the interior and exterior. Notably, the Escalade boasts a wider range of options than ever before.

Buyers can choose between short and long wheelbases, V-Series performance packages, and even traditional gasoline or electric powertrains. August, however, brought less positive news from General Motors as the beloved Duramax engine met its demise.

The company discontinued the 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engine from its full-size SUV lineup this month. Capitalizing on this shift, Ford saw an opportunity to shine.  They promptly revealed the all-new 2025 Lincoln Navigator, touting it as a vehicle that will “raise” the premium full-size SUV category it pioneered nearly 30 years ago.

While the fourth-generation Navigator only debuted in 2018, a mid-cycle refresh seemed more likely for 2024. However, Ford surprised everyone with a complete redesign, marking the fifth generation of the luxurious SUV.

Lincoln is prepping a mid-cycle refresh for their iconic Navigator SUV, drawing inspiration from the recently revealed 2025 Nautilus and restyled 2025 Aviator. This update is expected to hit showrooms next spring, following the updated 2025 Cadillac Escalade.

While official details are scarce, the current rumor mill suggests the powertrain will remain the proven twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 churning out 440 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. In the absence of concrete information, digital car artists are having their field day envisioning the revamped Navigator.

One such artist, Nikita Chuicko (kelsonik on social media), has rendered a CGI version that takes things a step further. While the real Navigator offers 22-inch wheels as standard (matching the Escalade), Chuicko’s creation boasts even larger (possibly 26-inch) aftermarket wheels in a contrasting black finish. To complete the look, the ride height is subtly lowered for a sportier stance.
