The Porsche 911 Speedster has been a coveted model among enthusiasts since its inception in 1954. However, there was a notable absence in the fourth generation, the Type 993. To rectify this, avid Speedster collector Luca Trazzi took matters into his own hands.
Driven by his passion and desire to own the perfect Speedster, he started a personal project to create a fourth-generation model. With his extensive knowledge and detailed vision, Trazzi approached Porsche’s Sonderwunsch studio to bring his dream to life.
The result is a unique and stunning Speedster, showcased at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. A lifelong passion for Porsche Speedsters fueled Luca Trazzi’s dream of creating a one-off variant that Porsche itself hadn’t produced.
His inspiration stemmed from his childhood admiration for the iconic car, evident in his first Speedster purchase, a 1955 model. This ignited a “Speedster-mania” that culminated in collaborating with Porsche’s Sonderwunsch team to turn his vision into reality.
Trazzi meticulously documented his ideas in a project book, ensuring every detail met his expectations. The three-year journey involved numerous visits to the factory, allowing him to witness his dream car come to life, from the unique yellow paint job named after his dog Otto to the reimagined rear bodywork.
The final product boasted a powerful engine and handling system from the 911 Carrera RS, all wrapped in a luxurious black leather interior with carbon fiber accents. This bespoke Speedster serves as a testament to Trazzi’s dedication and Porsche’s ability to transform a customer’s dream into a stunning reality, even if it means a lengthy wait.
