A recall has been issued for a small number of 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLB 35 4MATIC vehicles due to a potential issue with the rear-axle brake hoses. These hoses may have been incorrectly routed, leading to the risk of chafing against the rear axle and causing a brake fluid leak. This leak can significantly impair braking performance, increasing the risk of an accident.

Mercedes-Benz has identified that a deviation in the assembly process is responsible for the issue. In the event of a leak, the digital instrument cluster will display a warning message prompting the driver to check the brake fluid level.

While no field reports or warranty claims have been received in the United States, a total of 16 vehicles are potentially affected. These vehicles were assembled between October 17 and November 10, 2023.

Dealers have been instructed to inspect the routing of the rear hoses on all affected vehicles. If necessary, they will reroute the hoses at no cost to the customer. Owners will receive notification letters by October 8, 2024. To determine if their vehicle is included in the recall, owners can enter their VIN on the automaker’s recall portal.

It’s important to note that while the GLB 35 4MATIC is marketed as an AMG-tuned model, it doesn’t share the same level of performance or engineering as true AMG vehicles. The engine, a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four, was not developed by AMG. However, the GLB 35 4MATIC still offers a sporty driving experience with its powerful engine and all-wheel-drive system.

If you own a 2024 GLB 35 4MATIC, it’s recommended to check your vehicle’s VIN against the recall information provided by Mercedes-Benz. Early detection and resolution of this issue can help ensure the safety of both you and other drivers on the road. The Mercedes-Benz GLB 35 4MATIC offers a blend of performance, practicality, and luxury.

Its 2.0-liter turbocharged engine delivers impressive power and acceleration, allowing it to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.4 seconds. The GLB 35 4MATIC is also equipped with a spacious interior that can comfortably accommodate up to seven passengers, making it a versatile choice for families or groups.

However, the starting price of $60,100 is relatively high for a compact SUV, and some features that are standard on competing models, such as a heated steering wheel, are optional extras on the GLB 35 4MATIC. To enhance the GLB 35 4MATIC’s comfort and convenience, Mercedes-Benz offers a range of optional packages.

The Winter Package includes heated windshield washers and a heated steering wheel, while the Exclusive Trim adds features like Traffic Sign Assist, navigation map updates, and active LED headlamps.

The Pinnacle Trim, the most luxurious option, includes animated logo projectors, the MBUX Interior Assistant, and an AMG-specific head-up display. While these packages can significantly increase the price of the GLB 35 4MATIC, they provide a more comprehensive and personalized driving experience.
