Despite its popularity in other markets, the Jeep Renegade has been discontinued in the US and Canada due to declining sales. While the larger Compass now serves as the brand’s most affordable offering, rumors persist about a potential revival of the Renegade nameplate.

Some speculate that a new generation could be introduced as early as 2027, while others doubt the feasibility of such a project, suggesting that a rumored “Renegade” might be an electric subcompact SUV. Amidst this uncertainty, digital artists have taken the liberty of imagining what a hypothetical 2027 Jeep Renegade could look like.

Their renderings depict a vehicle that bears a resemblance to a smaller, more quirky version of the current Compass. However, the most striking feature is the signature seven-slot grille, flanked by dual headlights behind a single pane of plastic. A large central air intake, side vents with integrated fog lamps, and ample black cladding complete the rugged exterior.

The digital artist’s rendition of the 2027 Jeep Renegade suggests a vehicle that is both familiar and fresh. The iconic seven-slot grille, a hallmark of Jeep vehicles, is retained, but the design is more streamlined and modern. The headlights are integrated into the grille, creating a more cohesive front fascia.

The side vents are functional and visually appealing, adding to the vehicle’s sporty character. The black cladding around the wheel arches and lower body panels reinforces the Renegade’s off-road capabilities. While the digital artist’s interpretation is purely speculative, it provides a look into what a potential new-generation Jeep Renegade might look like.

Whether or not this design will be adopted by Jeep remains to be seen, but it is clear that the Renegade nameplate continues to hold a special place in the hearts of many Jeep enthusiasts. The proposed 2027 Jeep Renegade, while intriguing, falls short of fascinating our design sensibilities.

While it boasts certain commendable elements, such as its muscular shoulders, squared arches, and slightly sloping roofline, the aesthetic feels somewhat underwhelming. The plastic cladding, particularly on the lower parts of the wheel arches and the rear bumper, detracts from the vehicle’s sporty appeal. Moreover, the taillights, seemingly inspired by Alfa Romeo, and the faux exhaust tips in the diffuser appear contrived and inauthentic.

The Jeep logo adorning the tailgate and hood, along with the large side mirrors and black roof rails, contribute to a rugged appearance. However, the use of normal-sized alloys and regular tires fails to complement the vehicle’s muscular stance. The dark blue shade, while elegant, does little to enhance the design.

To further raise the Renegade’s appeal, the designers could consider incorporating more aggressive body lines, such as deeper wheel arches and a more pronounced hood scoop.

Additionally, a more sophisticated lighting system, perhaps with slimmer headlights and taillights, could enhance the vehicle’s modern aesthetic. The interior could also benefit from a more premium feel, with higher-quality materials and a more intuitive infotainment system.

While the 2027 Jeep Renegade offers a promising foundation, it requires further refinement to truly stand out in the competitive SUV market. With careful attention to detail and a commitment to design excellence, the Renegade could evolve into a truly compelling and desirable vehicle.
