Audi’s recent lineup overhaul has seen a focus on executive compact/mid-size models. In July, they launched the 2025 Q6 e-tron, setting a new standard for electric SUV range and charging speed. The new A5 and S5 family, available in sedan and Avant wagon styles, followed suit.
Additionally, the A6 e-tron, offered in Sportback and Avant body styles with RWD, Quattro, and S6 models, further expanded Audi’s electric vehicle offerings. However, despite the strong lineup of new models, the highly anticipated all-new Q5 compact crossover SUV remains absent.
This popular model, which has been a key contributor to Audi’s sales success, is expected to receive a significant update following its 2021 mid-cycle facelift and the introduction of the all-new A5 series. While Audi has made substantial progress in revamping its lineup, the absence of the all-new Q5 leaves a notable gap.
As one of Audi’s best-selling models, its introduction will be eagerly awaited by both customers and enthusiasts alike. The Audi Q5, a beloved model in the automotive world, is set to receive a significant update. While the official release is still awaited, digital artists have taken the liberty of imagining what the third-generation model might look like based on recent spy shots.
One such artist, Nikita Chuicko, has created a concept design that envisions a more refined and evolutionary approach to the Q5’s design. Drawing inspiration from the new A5 family, Chuicko’s design features a traditional headlight setup at the front, eschewing the split-headlight trend seen on some of Audi’s newer models. This choice aligns with the Q5’s established identity, while still incorporating contemporary design elements.
At the rear, a full-width LED taillight band adds a modern touch, further enhancing the vehicle’s visual appeal. Interestingly, the concept suggests a potential shift towards a Sportback-only offering, departing from the traditional SUV body style.
This move could cater to a growing market demand for more aerodynamic and stylish vehicles. While the final production model may deviate from this concept, it serves as a tantalizing look into the potential direction that Audi might take with the next-generation Q5.
