The Chinese-owned MG has recently revealed the all-new ZS Hybrid+ in the UK, a mid-cycle refresh that offers significant enhancements over its predecessor. Priced competitively at £21,995 OTR, the 2025 model is a compelling option in the hybrid SUV market.
With its attractive pricing and impressive features, the ZS Hybrid+ presents strong value for money. Its closest European rival, the Dacia Duster Hybrid, is yet to release its UK pricing, making the MG an even more appealing choice for those seeking a hybrid SUV.
Available in two trim levels, SE and Trophy, the ZS Hybrid+ offers a range of standard features, including a large touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, LED lighting, keyless entry, and driver assistance technologies. The Trophy trim adds further enhancements, justifying its slightly higher price tag of £24,495.
MG Motor UK has also announced a comprehensive warranty of 7 years or 80,000 miles for the ZS Hybrid+, providing customers with peace of mind. With its combination of competitive pricing, advanced features, and reliable warranty, the ZS Hybrid+ is poised to make a significant impact in the UK market.
The MG ZS Hybrid+ boasts a host of upgrades over its entry-level counterpart, including stylish wheels, faux leather upholstery, a comprehensive 360-degree camera system, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. The icing on the cake is rear privacy glass, adding an extra layer of luxury and privacy.
Under the hood, the ZS Hybrid+ packs a punch with a 1.5-liter petrol engine mated to a three-speed automatic transmission, an electric motor, a generator, and a battery pack. Despite being front-wheel drive only, this subcompact crossover delivers a combined power output of 196 metric ponies, equivalent to 193 mechanical horsepower. The petrol engine contributes 102 ps (100 hp), while the electric motor adds 136 ps (134 hp), resulting in a formidable performance.
While the high-voltage battery may not offer an extensive electric-only range, the ZS Hybrid+ shines in terms of fuel efficiency. According to the WLTP standard, it achieves a combined fuel economy of 55.4 miles per gallon (UK), translating to 46.1 miles per gallon (US) or 5.1 liters per 100 kilometers in Europe.
This impressive fuel economy outperforms the Dacia Jogger Expression TCe 140 Hybrid, which is rated at 58.9 mpg UK (49.0 mpg US or 4.8 l/100 km). However, the Dacia Jogger offers more interior space at a slightly lower starting price of £22,995.
