A 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, a limited-edition muscle car renowned for its exceptional power and performance, recently sold for $103,000. This price, while significantly above its original MSRP, raises questions about the enduring appeal of overpriced used muscle cars. The SRT Demon, a flagship variant of the Dodge Challenger, was revealed in 2017 with a 6.2-liter HEMI V8 engine fitted with a 2.7-liter supercharger.
It boasted an impressive 808 horsepower on 91 octane fuel and could reach 840 horsepower and 770 lb-ft of torque on 100 octane. Its lightweight design and powerful engine allowed it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds and complete the quarter-mile in under 10 seconds.
Despite its impressive performance and limited production, the recent sale of this 2018 SRT Demon for $103,000 suggests that the market for high priced used muscle cars may be cooling.
While the car’s low mileage and unique features undoubtedly contributed to its high selling price, the fact that it sold for substantially more than its original MSRP raises concerns about the long-term viability of such investments. The 2023 Dodge Challenger Demon #2,141 comes with a host of interior features.
These include a heated Alcantara wrapped steering wheel, a carbon fiber dashboard plaque identifying it as Demon #2,141, and other amenities such as Demonic Red Laguna leather seats (heated and ventilated), two tone door panels, a rearview camera, a Harman Kardon sound system, blind spot monitoring, dual-zone automatic climate control, bright-finish pedals, and an infotainment system with sat-nav.
The sale also included the Demon Crate, which contains an upgraded ECU, a performance air filter, front runner wheels, a cordless impact wrench, a torque wrench, a tire pressure gauge, and a hydraulic floor jack.
