The Polestar 3, a five seat luxury electric crossover, is a costly option in Australia, starting at a hefty AUD 118,420 (over $81k) before on road taxes. Based on the SPA2 platform, it’s a twin of the Volvo EX90 but with five seats, positioning it as a competitor to the Tesla Model Y.

Produced in China, Polestar has recently expanded production to South Carolina to avoid potential Chinese import tariffs. In the United States, the Polestar 3 is available in two models: Long Range Dual Motor and Long Range Dual Motor Performance Pack, priced at $73,400 and $79,400, respectively. With up to 510 hp and an EPA estimated range of 315 miles, the Polestar 3 offers a luxurious and high performance electric driving experience.

Polestar has introduced a new base model for its Polestar 3 electric SUV in Australia. This rear-wheel-drive variant offers a more accessible starting price of AUD 118,420 without sacrificing performance or range. Despite being the most efficient Polestar 3 yet, it still boasts a impressive 700 km range on a single charge.

Powered by a single electric motor, the base model delivers a respectable 295 horsepower and 490 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds. The Polestar 3 is a luxury electric SUV that combines Scandinavian design aesthetics with focused driving dynamics and superb sustainability credentials.

The base model offers a more affordable entry point for those seeking a stylish and high performance electric vehicle without the need for all wheel drive. While the base model is equipped with a single electric motor, it still provides a satisfying driving experience.

The 295 horsepower and 490 Nm of torque are sufficient for most driving scenarios, and the 700 km range ensures that you can travel long distances without worrying about running out of battery.
