Ford has issued a second recall for certain 2024 Bronco Sport models due to potential software issues. The affected vehicles, which were previously recalled in April, may experience a loss of motive power or stalling while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.
This is caused by a faulty powertrain and body control module software that may not detect sudden changes in the battery’s state of charge. To address this issue, Ford will update the software on the affected vehicles at no cost to owners.
Owners of 2024 Bronco Sport models can determine if their vehicle is included in the recall by using the free VIN look up tools provided by Ford and the US auto safety regulator. The recall affects vehicles produced on October 24, 2023, and includes 76 units.
Ford has stated that notification letters will be mailed to affected owners between October 25, 2024, and November 1, 2024. Owners can also contact their local Ford dealership for more information about the recall.
The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport is a significant upgrade from its predecessor. With a new design, increased capability, and advanced technology, it’s poised to be a top contender in the compact SUV segment.
The base 1.5-liter engine can tow up to 2,200 pounds, while the more powerful 2.0-liter engine can handle 2,700 pounds. The optional Sasquatch Package, inspired by its larger sibling, adds off road prowess. Available on the Outer Banks and Badlands trims, the Sasquatch Package includes larger tires, upgraded suspension, and increased ground clearance.
One of the most notable changes is the addition of the Sasquatch Package. This package includes features such as larger 235/65 R17 Goodyear Territory All Terrain tires, position-sensitive damping, piggyback-reservoir Bilstein rear shock absorbers, and increased ride height.
The Sasquatch Package also offers 0.6 inches of additional suspension travel, bringing the total to 8.3 inches in the front and 8.7 inches in the rear. This increased off-road capability makes the 2025 Bronco Sport a more versatile vehicle for those who enjoy exploring rugged terrain.
