Skoda has revealed a groundbreaking new concept car, the Enyaq RS Race, a motorsport-inspired evolution of its popular Enyaq Coupe RS. This sleek, aerodynamic vehicle boasts a significant increase in width and a lower stance compared to its road legal counterpart.

The Enyaq RS Race features redesigned bumpers, headlights, and taillights, as well as a striking LED strip connecting the front lights. Beyond its aggressive exterior, the Enyaq RS Race showcases Skoda’s commitment to sustainability.

The car incorporates sustainable materials throughout its construction, including biocomposites for bumpers, fenders, roofs, and interior elements. These materials reduce the car’s environmental impact and contribute to a significant weight reduction of 315 kg compared to the Enyaq Coupe.

To enhance its aggressive stance, Skoda completely redesigned every body panel of the production model. A robust roll cage made of high strength chrome molybdenum steel was added to reinforce the body and ensure occupant safety in a crash.

The interior was equipped with racing seats, six-point harnesses, a safety door filling, and an automatic fire extinguisher. Red and green lights mounted on the sides indicated the high voltage system status, a feature inspired by WRC rally cars.

Mechanical upgrades included carbon ceramic brake discs with ten piston calipers in the front and four pistons in the rear, a new brake cooling system, a rally type hydraulic handbrake with a long lever, and the pedal system from the Skoda Fabia RS Rall2.

The DCC suspension was replaced with a sportier setup that allowed for individual adjustments. The car rode on larger 29 inch wheels with low profile tires. Skoda also opted for linear steering instead of the progressive rack and pinion steering used in the production version.

The powertrain remained unchanged, consisting of a dual motor system. Skoda confirmed that the new 2024 Enyaq RS Race Concept delivered the same power as the street legal version, with a combined output of 340 ps (335 hp/250 kW).

The 82 kWh battery pack was also carried over from the Enyaq Coupe RS. The concept could accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in under five seconds and had a top speed of 180 kph.
