The latest iteration of MINI’s ICE-powered Hatch family has received a thoughtful aftermarket enhancement from AC Schnitzer, known for its tasteful and discreet upgrades. Unlike some tuners that go overboard with modifications, AC Schnitzer focuses on sensible enhancements, as demonstrated by their work on the MINI Cooper S.
This version showcases a refined approach, featuring a selection of exterior additions, suspension tweaks, new wheels, and subtle interior modifications that enhance the car’s overall appeal without losing its character.
Fans of the MINI brand will appreciate the aftermarket components added to this subcompact hot hatch. AC Schnitzer has equipped the vehicle with a side skirt set, a two-piece rear roof-mounted wing, a front splitter, and front side wings. Additionally, the tuner has installed a rear skirt protection foil and sleek decals in black and anthracite on the hood and sides. To reinforce the car’s sporty identity, AC Schnitzer logos adorn both the tailgate and rear wing, further emphasizing its dynamic essence.
The visual upgrade continues with a set of light alloy wheels that measure 7.5×19 inches at both axles, wrapped in 215/35 tires. To provide a more aggressive stance, the MINI Cooper S has been fitted with 10 mm spacers on all four corners, enhancing its sporty demeanor.
AC Schnitzer has also revamped the exhaust system, equipping it with front and rear silencers featuring 100 mm tailpipes that are integrated into the rear diffuser. Additionally, the suspension has been lowered, contributing to a more dynamic driving experience.
The overall aesthetic of the car presents a striking red finish complemented by black elements, including the add-ons, roof, and five-spoke wheels. Inside, the cabin boasts a predominantly black theme with red accents, such as contrast stitching on the seats and steering wheel. AC Schnitzer has also added practical touches like an aluminum footrest and key holder, improving both the look and functionality of the interior before moving on to their next project.
Under the hood, the MINI Cooper S features a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine that produces 201 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. This front-wheel-drive model is paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 6.6 seconds—impressive figures for a subcompact hot hatch. AC Schnitzer’s enhancements to the MINI Cooper S are a testament to their ability to blend performance and style while maintaining the vehicle’s core characteristics.
