The relationship between James Bond and Aston Martin has flourished over the past 60 years, transcending the iconic British automaker’s various vehicle offerings. While Bond has driven a range of cars, including a Toyota 2000GT and a BMW 750iL, the connection with Aston Martin remains significant.

To celebrate this enduring partnership, Aston Martin is introducing a special-edition DB12 called the Goldfinger Edition. This limited model commemorates the long-standing collaboration between the luxury car brand and the James Bond franchise.

The DB12 Goldfinger Edition is a product of Q, Aston Martin’s bespoke service, and will be produced in a limited run of 60 units. While it retains the mechanical specifications of the standard DB12, which features a powerful 671 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque from its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine, the Goldfinger Edition sets itself apart through unique design elements. These distinctive details pay homage to Bond’s legacy and the classic vehicles associated with the franchise.

Aston Martin’s global chief brand and commercial officer, Marco Mattiacci, expressed the significance of the partnership, emphasizing the joy of recognizing six decades of collaboration with this special edition.

The exterior of the Goldfinger Edition features a striking Silver Birch paint job that mirrors the iconic color of the DB5 from the 1964 film “Goldfinger.” Additional exterior enhancements include modern 21-inch wheels, black brake calipers, gold side strakes, and eye-catching silver Aston Martin badging, creating a bridge between classic and contemporary aesthetics.

Inside, the Goldfinger Edition showcases exceptional craftsmanship, featuring leather sports seats designed in the classic DB5 style with a nod to Bond’s sartorial elegance through the Prince of Wales check perforation pattern.

The interior also boasts an embroidered eight hearts on the driver’s sun visor, reminiscent of a pivotal scene from “Goldfinger,” alongside luxurious accents such as an 18-karat gold-plated gear selector and a polished sill plaque honoring the 60th anniversary. These details highlight the meticulous attention to detail that Aston Martin is known for.

The owners of the Goldfinger Edition will receive an array of exclusive gifts, adding to the allure of this limited release. Each customer will be presented with a custom car cover, a luxury key presentation box, a model of the car in Silver Birch, and a framed section of film from the iconic Goldfinger chase scene.

Additionally, they will receive a Globe-Trotter attaché case featuring the same Prince of Wales interior and a separate Air Cabin Case for a magnum of 2007 vintage Champagne Bollinger. While details about how to purchase the Goldfinger Edition are yet to be revealed, it’s anticipated that demand will be high, with deliveries expected to start next spring.
