Nissan, the Japanese automotive giant, is making significant strides in the American market. By implementing strategic decisions, such as maintaining the Versa as the most affordable car in the US, introducing new generations of the Murano and Armada, and exploring potential expansions into sports cars, Nissan has positioned itself for growth.

Despite a slight increase of 0.6% in sales during the first nine months of the year, Nissan’s future prospects look promising. While affordable cars face challenges, the Nissan Versa has seen a substantial surge in sales, up by over 64%.

The Nissan Kicks, offering a blend of size, maturity, and fun, has also contributed to the brand’s success. Additionally, the stylish new Murano and the powerful Armada, borrowing cues from the Infiniti QX80, have further solidified Nissan’s presence in the market.

The affordable sports car market is shrinking, but a new Silvia (known as 200SX and later as 240SX in North America) could revitalize it. A recent independent design project by Valentin Komkov, a CG artist at Aufeer Design, envisions a neo retro prototype called the Nissan 500SX.

This concept car features pop up LED headlights, a carbon fiber aerodynamic kit, and a right hand drive cockpit with a large tablet in the middle of the dashboard. The 500SX’s design is a blend of classic and modern elements, with a retro inspired shape and modern features.

The car’s exterior is sleek and aerodynamic, with a low profile and aggressive stance. The interior is spacious and comfortable, with plenty of legroom and headroom for both front and rear passengers.

The 500SX is powered by a turbocharged engine that delivers impressive performance. The car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in under 5 seconds and has a top speed of over 150 mph.

The 500SX is also equipped with a number of advanced safety features, including automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and blind spot monitoring.

If the Nissan 500SX were to go into production, it would be a welcome addition to the affordable sports car market. The car’s combination of style, performance, and value would make it a compelling option for drivers who are looking for a fun and exciting vehicle.
