Mazda’s CX-80 is expanding its reach, with Australia becoming the latest market to welcome this three-row SUV. This latest addition to the Large Product Group platform, which also includes the CX-60 and CX-70, offers a blend of style, space, and performance.
The CX-80 will be available in Australia with a range of powertrain options, including a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), a mild-hybrid gasoline engine, and a mild-hybrid diesel engine. The PHEV variant, the range-topper, combines a 2.5-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor and a 17.8 kWh battery, delivering a combined output of 323 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque.
This setup also offers an electric-only range of up to 40 miles. For those seeking a more traditional internal combustion engine, the CX-80 can be equipped with either a 280 hp gasoline inline-six or a 251 hp diesel inline-six, both of which are paired with Mazda’s 48V mild-hybrid system.
Mazda’s all-new CX-80 is a family oriented SUV that offers a blend of comfort, practicality, and efficiency. The Australian market will see four trim levels: Pure, Touring, GT, and Azami, with an optional SP Package for the top-tier model.
Powertrain options include a 3.3-liter gasoline engine, a 3.3-liter diesel engine, and a plug in hybrid (PHEV) system, all paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and I Activ all wheel drive.
The CX-80’s spacious interior accommodates up to seven passengers and offers ample cargo capacity. The vehicle’s striking design is highlighted by the new Melting Copper Metallic paint option.
Pricing for the gasoline-powered Pure model starts at AUD 54,950, while the diesel and PHEV variants are available from AUD 63,950 and AUD 75,000, respectively. The range-topping Azami PHEV is priced at AUD 87,200.
