This particular model, #40 of just 600 produced for the U.S. market, boasted a mere 35 miles on the odometer and a striking Phoenix Yellow paint job. While its original MSRP was $44,990, it fetched a staggering $50,000 at auction, a testament to its exclusivity and desirability.
Honda introduced the Limited Edition in 2020, reserving 100 units for Europe and 600 for the U.S. Each car was meticulously crafted with a serialized plaque and a weight reduction of 46 pounds, achieved by shedding soundproofing materials, the rear wiper, tonneau cover, rear heater ducts, and opting for lightweight BBS forged alloy wheels.
Beneath the hood, the 2.0-liter VTEC turbocharged four-cylinder engine remained unchanged, delivering exhilarating performance. However, Honda refined the driving experience with a recalibrated steering system and tuned dampers.
Visually, this limited-edition Type R stood out with its black roof, black chrome trim, red accents, LED lighting, a prominent hood scoop, aggressive aerodynamic elements, and the distinctive triple exhaust outlets.
