Lucid Motors is launching its second vehicle, a three-row SUV called the Gravity, positioned as a slightly higher-priced alternative to its luxury sedan, the Lucid Air. Surprisingly, the Gravity’s pricing is close to that of the Air, starting at just $1,000 more than the sedan. Additionally, the high-end Gravity Grand Touring model is priced significantly lower than the equivalent Lucid Air Grand Touring trim, making the Gravity an appealing option for those seeking a spacious electric SUV without a major price increase.
The first Gravity models set to hit the market will be the Grand Touring trims, with an estimated starting price of $96,400. While exact specifications are still pending, Lucid has indicated that the Grand Touring will feature over 800 horsepower and a substantial electric range of 440 miles per charge. Although shipping costs for the Gravity haven’t been confirmed, it’s anticipated that it will carry the same $1,500 destination fee as the Air. Production for the Gravity is expected to begin by the end of this year, with deliveries to follow.
A lower-priced variant, the Gravity Touring, will start at around $81,400 and will feature less horsepower than the Grand Touring, likely around 620 horsepower, similar to the Lucid Air Touring sedan. Its range will also be shorter, though exact figures are not yet disclosed. Production of the Gravity Touring is slated to begin later, in late 2025. Lucid is expected to release additional, possibly lower-priced trims of the Gravity after the Touring model, potentially introducing an entry-level Pure trim similar to the award-winning Lucid Air Pure.
Orders for the Gravity’s Touring and Grand Touring models will open on November 7. Lucid has announced that existing Lucid Air customers will have priority for early Gravity deliveries. While much of the specific information regarding configurations and features of the Gravity is still under wraps, Lucid promises more updates as production approaches and further details are confirmed.
The Gravity offers an exciting option in the luxury electric SUV market, especially for existing Lucid Air owners and enthusiasts looking for a high-performance, three-row EV with an impressive range. Its relatively competitive pricing, power, and anticipated spacious interior make it a strong contender as Lucid expands its lineup, aiming to provide a luxurious and efficient electric alternative for SUV buyers.
