Several Iconic Cars and Trucks Disappear as 2025 Models Enter the Market

As 2024 comes to a close, the arrival of 2025-model-year vehicles signals a shift in the automotive landscape, with a number of beloved models disappearing from dealer lots. Here’s a rundown of cars that won’t see the new year, with more expected to follow.

The farewell list includes some longstanding favorites. After a long run, the Nissan GT-R and Titan are bowing out, while Maserati is parting ways with the Ghibli in favor of a more electrified future. But it’s not just the old guard; newcomers like the Bugatti Chiron and the Chevrolet Camaro are also making their final exits, alongside fan favorites like the Ram TRX.

Here are some notable models that will be missed:

Chevrolet Camaro: After killing off the four-cylinder version in 2023, Chevy is now ending the entire Camaro lineup. The final ZL1 1LE model, which went into production in December 2023, will be the last of the sixth-generation Camaros.

Nissan GT-R: A true legend in the performance world, the GT-R will end production in October 2024. Nissan will offer two special editions—the Skyline and Takumi—that pay tribute to the GT-R’s rich legacy.

Bugatti Chiron: The iconic Chiron hypercar bids adieu after an eight-year run. Known for its monstrous W-16 engine and record-breaking top speeds, it will be replaced by the new Tourbillon.

Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio: After 2024, the Giulia Quadrifoglio will be discontinued with its gas engine, although the “Quadrifoglio” badge may return on an electric or hybrid model in the future.

Ram 1500 TRX: This supercharged monster will be replaced by a new model. If you want one of the last 702-horsepower TRXs, they’ll be available in limited quantities before the year ends.

Maserati Levante and Quattroporte: Both the Levante SUV and Quattroporte sedan, staples in Maserati’s lineup, will be discontinued after 2024, as the brand shifts toward electrification. The last Quattroporte model, a V-8-powered Grand Finale, will mark the end of an era.

Maserati Ghibli: Another victim of Maserati’s electrification push, the Ghibli will end production after 2024. It’s been a part of the brand’s lineup for 11 years.

Jaguar F-Type: This beloved sports car has officially ended production. The F-Type’s run lasted a decade, with the final model paying homage to the E-Type in a beautiful Giola Green paint job.

Ford Escape: A consistent best-seller for Ford, the Escape compact SUV will be discontinued after 2024. Despite selling over 140,000 units in 2023, the Escape’s time has come, following in the footsteps of the discontinued Ford Edge.

Mini Clubman: With Mini revamping its lineup, the Clubman station wagon will be a thing of the past. Only a limited number of Final Edition models will be available for 2024.

Volvo S60: As Volvo moves toward electric vehicles, the gas-powered S60 sedan will be retired. This luxury sedan has been a staple in the US market since its debut in 2000.

BMW X3M: While not yet officially confirmed, it looks like the performance version of the BMW X3 will be discontinued in favor of an all-electric performance SUV, the iX3 M.

Fisker Ocean: After the company declared bankruptcy in June, Fisker’s electric SUV, the Ocean, will no longer be produced. If you can find one, there are deals to be had, but it won’t survive into 2025.

Toyota Supra Four-Cylinder: If you were eyeing the affordable four-cylinder Toyota Supra, you’d have to look elsewhere. Toyota is discontinuing the model due to slow sales, but the six-cylinder version will continue.

Mitsubishi Mirage: Both the hatchback and sedan versions of the Mirage will disappear after 2024, a victim of sluggish sales and an outdated platform.

Audi A4 and A5: Audi is slimming down its offerings, and the A4 sedan, which has been around since 1994, will no longer be offered as a gas model. The A5 Coupe and Cabrio are also disappearing, with the A5 sedan being the only remaining option in the lineup.

Jeep Gladiator Manual: The manual transmission option for the Gladiator pickup will be discontinued, leaving the eight-speed automatic as the sole choice.

Porsche 718 Boxster / Cayman (in Europe): While the 718 models will continue in the US, European buyers will no longer be able to register them starting in July 2024 due to new safety regulations. An electric version is expected in the future.

Infiniti Q50: Infiniti will no longer offer the Q50 sedan after 2024, choosing to focus on crossovers and SUVs as part of a brand-wide revamp.

Nissan Titan: The Titan, Nissan’s full-size pickup, will be discontinued after 2024, following disappointing sales figures.

These vehicles are set to be replaced by newer models, many of which will reflect the growing trend towards electrification and advanced technology. So, as the year winds down, it’s time to say goodbye to these iconic cars.
