GMC has raised the price of its 2025 Terrain, marking the first price increase of the year. The new base model, the Elevation trim, starts at $31,395 for front-wheel drive (FWD) and $33,395 for all-wheel drive (AWD), which is a $1,300 hike compared to the 2024 model. While this price bump may be disappointing for some, the vehicle comes with significant upgrades that could make the extra cost worthwhile.

One of the main improvements for 2025 is the addition of more standard features. The Elevation trim replaces the previous base SLE model and now includes features such as heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, remote start, illuminated vanity mirrors, and express up/down windows, all part of the Driver Convenience Package. These were optional features in the previous model year, but now they come as standard in the base trim.

Another key upgrade for the 2025 Terrain is its new 15-inch premium infotainment system with Google built-in. This system offers Google Assistant, Google Maps, live traffic updates, and predictive intelligence features. It also includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with an 11-inch digital instrument cluster, SiriusXM trial subscription, and OnStar services. These tech enhancements contribute to the overall appeal of the new Terrain.

GMC has also confirmed that the 2025 Terrain will be available in the AT4 and Denali trims, but these versions won’t be available until the 2026 model year. The previous Terrain AT4 AWD started at $36,890, and the Denali AWD had a starting price of $39,995. The SLT trim, which sat between the SLE and AT4 in the previous generation, has been removed from the third-generation Terrain lineup.

Under the hood, all 2025 Terrain models share the same powertrain. They are equipped with a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 175 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, providing consistent performance across both front-wheel and all-wheel-drive versions of the vehicle.
