For many of us, owning a car represents the freedom to travel, whether it’s a short commute to work or an extended road trip across the country.

If you’re someone who enjoys long drives but is considering an electric vehicle, you’re likely familiar with range anxiety.

This term refers to the worry that an EV’s battery may not have enough charge to complete a trip a legitimate concern given that North America’s charging infrastructure is still evolving.

You’re not alone in this concern. 68% of prospective EV buyers consider range an important factor when choosing a vehicle, while 63% of current EV owners said range played a major role in their purchasing decision.

With this in mind, we’ve compiled a list of EVs currently available for the 2025 model year that have received official EPA ratings and offer a minimum driving range of 325 miles.

Previously, our benchmark for inclusion was 300 miles, but advancements in battery technology have significantly increased range capabilities.

The selection of vehicles on this list varies in design and category, ranging from luxury SUVs and high-performance sedans to pickup trucks and versatile crossovers.

All range figures are based on EPA estimates, serving as standardized data for fair comparison. Manufacturer-reported estimates were not considered for this roundup, ensuring consistency.

Additionally, we have excluded vehicles that do not yet have an official EPA rating. Keep in mind that real-world range can fluctuate due to various factors, such as weather conditions, road types, driving habits, passenger load, and more.

The prices mentioned correspond to the specific trim level that provides the best possible driving range. If multiple trims offer the same maximum range, we have listed the most affordable option.

It’s worth noting that different trim levels can have significant variations in driving range.

1. Lucid Air

  • Price: $112,400 (including $1,500 destination fee)
  • Maximum electric driving range: 512 miles

The Air Grand Touring, equipped with 19-inch wheels, delivers an impressive 512 miles of range, all while featuring all-wheel drive, 819 horsepower, and a blistering 0-60 mph time of just 3 seconds.

In fact, the entire Air lineup boasts exceptional range. Even the entry-level Air Pure, priced at $71,400 and fitted with 19-inch wheels and rear-wheel drive, achieves 420 miles per charge enough to secure the Air’s position at the top of this list for 2025.

Despite its compact dimensions, the R1T offers a spacious backseat that comfortably accommodates adults.

The RWD single-motor 450+ variant of the EQS Sedan offers the longest range in the lineup, reaching up to 390 miles.

Adding dual-motor AWD does not significantly reduce its range, with both the EQS 450 4Matic and the more powerful EQS 580 4Matic versions offering 367 and 371 miles of range, respectively.

Even the performance-oriented AMG EQS still manages to achieve over 300 miles of range, depending on the specific trim.

While Tesla claims that the base Model S offers an EPA-estimated range of 402 miles with dual-motor AWD and 19-inch wheels, the only variant currently available with official 2025 EPA figures is the top-tier Plaid.

Even with 19-inch wheels, the Plaid variant still provides a solid range of up to 348 miles. As with most electric vehicles, choosing larger wheels for any variant will reduce the maximum range.

Even the Ioniq 6’s base trim delivers impressive features for the price, which contributed to it being named our Best Value EV in the 2024 Cars.com Affordability Report.

If you opt for the AWD version of the SE trim, the maximum range decreases to 316 miles, which, while just missing out on this list, is still highly impressive for a reasonably priced all-wheel-drive sedan.

  • Price: $46,380 (including $1,390 destination fee)
  • Maximum electric driving range: 337 miles

Introduced in the 2020 model year, the Tesla Model Y SUV shares the same platform and powertrain as the Model 3 sedan. Much like the Model 3, the Model Y boasts responsive steering and ample power that pushes you back into your seat during hard acceleration.

The RS trim with RWD offers a maximum range of 334 miles, placing the Chevrolet Blazer EV comfortably on this list. Our editors found the Blazer EV to be well-equipped and enjoyable to drive.

However, despite last year’s price cuts, it’s hard not to recommend spending just a little more for the Cadillac Lyriq, which offers only 8 fewer miles of range but comes with more power and a more refined experience.
