Ford introduced the off-road-oriented Maverick Tremor in 2023. Initially offered as a package available for a nominal fee ($3,495 in 2024), the package could be added to EcoBoost-powered, all-wheel-drive XLT and Lariat trims.
This package provided a range of off-road enhancements, including an off-road-tuned suspension, a 0.8-inch lift, front skidplates, a twin-clutch rear differential with locking capability, off-road driving modes, Trail Control, unique 17-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, and a full-size spare tire.
The Tremor also featured distinctive interior and exterior trim to highlight its rugged nature.For 2025, the Maverick Tremor returns, but now it’s a distinct trim level positioned above the Lariat in Ford’s lineup.

When it comes to pickups, the Jeep Gladiator continues to stand out as a truly unique offering. It remains a tough, off-road-capable vehicle, much like its seven-slot Wrangler sibling, but in the form of a more conventional, midsize truck.
For 2025, the Gladiator Rubicon’s sole engine choice is the familiar 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6, now paired exclusively with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

9. 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro
Toyota’s premier off-road pickup is the Tacoma TRD Pro, which has been fully redesigned for 2024. The truck is packed with specialized hardware designed for high-speed desert off-roading.
This includes 2.5-inch Fox Racing QS3 internal bypass shocks, with remote reservoirs at the rear. These shocks are adjustable at all four corners, providing three manually adjustable levels of firmness to suit different off-road adventures.
The TRD Pro also comes with a manually adjustable electronically disconnecting front anti-roll bar, which enhances the reach of the front axle when disconnected.
Additionally, the rear axle is equipped with Fox internal floating piston hydraulic bump stops, which greatly reduce the impact when the suspension bottoms out.
