Changan UK has introduced the Deepal S05, a new fully electric compact SUV offering a driving range of up to 303 miles under WLTP standards and carrying a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating.

The Deepal S05 went on sale in the United Kingdom on March 1, 2026. Pricing begins at £37,990 for the rear-wheel drive (RWD) model and £39,990 for the all-wheel drive (AWD) version.

Both variants are offered in a single trim level. At launch, the vehicle is being sold through a network of more than 40 dealership locations across the UK, with plans to expand that network to 60 sites by the end of March.

Powering the SUV is a 68.8kW/h lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack. Under WLTP testing, the rear-wheel drive model provides a range of up to 303 miles, while the all-wheel drive version offers up to 278 miles.

The RWD variant produces 200kW and 290Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 62mph in 7.5 seconds. The AWD model increases output to 320kW and 502Nm of torque, enabling it to reach 62mph in 5.5 seconds.

Charging support includes DC fast charging at speeds of up to 200kW, allowing the battery to charge from 30 percent to 80 percent in around 15 minutes. The vehicle also supports 11kW AC charging and includes a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function capable of delivering up to 6kW of power to external devices.

The exterior styling of the Deepal S05 was developed at Changan’s design centre in Turin, achieving a drag coefficient of 0.25Cd. Inside the cabin, the vehicle features a 15.4-inch rotating touchscreen and a 50-inch augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD). Additional interior features include a 14-speaker audio system, heated and ventilated front seats, and a zero-gravity seat for the front passenger.

Boot capacity measures 492 litres and can expand to 1,250 litres when the rear seats are folded down. The vehicle also includes a 159-litre front trunk for additional storage.

Commenting on the launch, Nic Thomas, Managing Director of Changan UK, said: “It delivers reassuring performance, thoughtful comfort and technology that simply works, wrapped in a design that feels modern and confident, all without the premium price tag.”

The Deepal S05 has also received a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP and is equipped with 17 driver assistance systems that enable Level 2 autonomous driving functions. The model is manufactured in Thailand and comes with a seven-year or 100,000-mile vehicle warranty, alongside an eight-year or 124,000-mile battery warranty.
