Last Saturday, on March 9th, a remarkable 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429 found a new owner who happily parted with $330,000 to claim this automotive treasure. While not the rarest Boss model, its allure lies in its pristine condition, particularly in the engine and low mileage.
With just 427 miles (687 kilometers) on the odometer post-comprehensive restoration, this Boss 429 retains its original factory markings, boasting the iconic Boss 429 V8 engine generating 375 hp (380 ps), coupled with a 4-speed manual transmission system, 3.91 Traction-Lok axle ratio, power steering, power brakes with front discs, among other features.
The bidding frenzy at the auction saw a rapid climb from $220,000 to the final $330,000 figure within a minute, underlining its desirability. Only 499 units of the Boss 429 were manufactured by Ford in 1970, making this Mustang a rare gem from the golden era of muscle cars.
