The early 1970s witnessed a significant decline in interest in big-block engines, impacting Pontiac’s flagship models. The once-popular GTO, which saw high demand in the late 1960s, faced a downturn. Despite Pontiac’s production of the GTO continuing into 1973, sales dwindled, with only around 5,000 units leaving the assembly lines.

As gas prices soared and emission regulations tightened, Pontiac pinned its hopes on the LeMans to sustain profitability. To evoke nostalgia for its performance-oriented past, Pontiac introduced the GT package, targeting enthusiasts seeking powerful engines.

Recently, a 1975 LeMans GT surfaced online, boasting several rare features, including NACA hood scoops. This meticulously maintained vehicle exhibits occasional patina but remains remarkably well-preserved. Housed in a climate-controlled garage for its entire life, the LeMans GT underwent $7,000 worth of refurbishments by Napoli Classics, its current seller.

Purchased from the original owner, the vehicle retains most of its factory components, including the cabin. Updates include new rear brakes and an air conditioning compressor.

Notably, this LeMans GT may be one of only 200 ever produced by Pontiac, making it a prized find for enthusiasts. Offered with original books and a build sheet, the LeMans GT commands a price tag of $33,000, with financing options available.
