Once a symbol of Hollywood stardom and automotive prowess, Nicolas Cage’s 1969 Chevrolet Corvette is back on the market. This iconic American muscle car, once owned by the eccentric actor, is a testament to its enduring appeal and the unique tastes of its former owner.
Originally equipped with a powerful 427ci L36 V8 engine and a four-speed manual transmission, the Corvette has undergone some modifications over the years. While the engine and transmission remain largely original, the carburetor has been rebuilt, and the manifold gasket has been replaced. The exterior, once a striking Cortez Silver, has been repainted, though the classic chrome bumpers, drive-side mirror, and pop-up headlights remain intact.
This particular Corvette first appeared on Bring a Trailer in 2021, and it’s now back for another chance to find a new owner. It’s a rare opportunity to own a piece of automotive history with a Hollywood connection. The 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, once owned by the eccentric actor Nicolas Cage, is currently up for auction.
Rolling on 15-inch Rally wheels adorned with chrome trim rings and center caps, the car is shod with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Behind these wheels, the braking system, comprising discs, calipers, lines, and pads, was last replaced in 2021.
Beneath the black soft top, the interior has been reupholstered and equipped with air conditioning and a Delco AM/FM radio, replacing an aftermarket unit that was previously v.installed. The odometer reads approximately 80,000 miles (128,700 km), with about 25% of that mileage accumulated during the current ownership. The car comes with service records and a clean Louisiana title.
With two days remaining in the online auction, the highest bid currently stands at $51,000. Fifteen bids have been placed so far, indicating keen interest in this iconic vehicle. As the bidding war heats up, the final price is expected to exceed the current highest offer.
