Motorcar Classics is excited to offer this remarkable and historically significant 1965 Aston Martin DB5, VIN: DB5 1856R, which has a special connection to the James Bond franchise.

This particular DB5 was built by the late, renowned movie car creator George Barris, who was a licensed promoter for the 007 films. While this car was used in various James Bond promotional events, it was never featured in any actual Bond movie.

Sourced by Barris’ representatives from Connecticut, the car was allegedly originally owned by Aston Martin as part of their race team.

It was initially equipped with a larger, more powerful DB6 engine, which has since been removed from the car.

However, the original DB6 engine, along with the original transmission and other components, is included in the sale.

The frame, rear end, floor, and most of the body and suspension are original to the car, although the wheels have been replaced with aftermarket options from England. The interior was reupholstered at some point in the past.
