India just made a big leap in space technology! They successfully test-fired a rocket engine built using a giant 3D printer. This is a major breakthrough because it allows them to build the engine much faster and with fewer parts.
The old way of building the engine required 14 different parts and a lot of welding. But with the 3D printer, they can print the entire engine in one piece! This also saves a lot of material – they used over 12 times less metal with the 3D printer.
This new technology is a big deal for India’s space program. It will allow them to launch rockets more often and potentially help them achieve their ambitious space goals, like landing an astronaut on the moon!
