Vigilante has transformed a 1988 custom-built Grand Wagoneer, merging modern performance enhancements with its timeless charm. This rejuvenated SUV, distinguished by its striking crimson wood-paneled exterior, stands out both on highways and rugged terrains.
Celebrated for their expertise in restoring classic Jeeps, Vigilante ensures that the vehicle now offers impressive speed and control, thanks to various contemporary upgrades. The Grand Wagoneer, a significant name in automotive history, was first introduced by Jeep in 1963 and continued production until the early 1990s.
The latest version has become a sought-after collectible, partly due to features like the “sunset stretch,” which highlights luxury and modern technology, such as the power seats available in the 1988 model.
Boasting an extraordinary 807 horsepower and 717 pound-feet of torque, this classic SUV has undergone a phenomenal transformation from its original 144-horsepower engine. Its powerful HEMI engine, coupled with a Bowler 4L80E automatic transmission, ensures it can outstrip most vehicles.
The four-link Eibach coil suspension, Fox Racing shocks, and six-piston brakes with Hydroboost power assistance contribute to superior handling and braking performance. The 17-inch machined wheels retain the original look while significantly boosting performance.
Though the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is the most powerful stock Jeep at 707 horsepower, this Hellcat Redeye 1988 Grand Wagoneer surpasses it. It’s only eclipsed by Vigilante’s other creations, featuring up to 825 horsepower and nearly 1,000 horsepower with a Hellephant engine.
