The Suzuki DR650, a versatile and reliable motorcycle, has long been a favorite among custom builders. Its rugged nature and potential for modification make it an ideal canvas for creative expression.

One such example is this stunning street tracker, crafted by Chris Penniall of Seven Motorcycles in Christchurch, New Zealand. Starting with a worn-out donor bike, Penniall envisioned a sleek and minimalist design.

He meticulously stripped the motorcycle down to its bare essentials and used CAD software to conceptualize the new aesthetic. Laser-cut aluminum components, including the front number board, tail section, and seat pan, were fabricated to bring his vision to life.

The transformation continued with the addition of custom-made parts like the license plate bracket, under-seat electronics box, and integrated LED taillight. Up front, an aftermarket LED headlight illuminates the path ahead, framed by the aluminum number plate. The stock fuel tank was replaced with a more stylish unit from a Honda CG125, and the seat pan was upholstered in a combination of black leather and Alcantara.

To enhance performance and aesthetics, Penniall upgraded the braking system with high-performance discs and swapped the standard wheels for 17-inch units wrapped in Bridgestone T31 sport-touring tires. The engine received a performance boost with a Mikuni TM40 flat-slide carburetor and a custom stainless-steel exhaust system.

The final touch was the application of Dodge’s Destroyer Grey paint scheme to the tank and tail section, complemented by a blacked-out frame, swingarm, and engine. The result is a stunning street tracker that seamlessly blends classic style with modern performance.
