Ford has recently made significant adjustments to the prices of its 2024 F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck. These changes reflect the company’s strategy to balance sales growth, profitability, and customer access to federal tax credits for electric vehicles (EVs).
The base model, the F-150 Lightning Pro, now starts at $54,995, which is unchanged from the previous price. However, the XLT trim, which offers a 240-mile range, has seen a price reduction from $64,995 to $62,995, a decrease of $2,000. The newly introduced Flash trim, which also offers a 240-mile range, has been priced at $67,995, down $5,500 from its initial price.
On the higher end, the Lariat trim with a 320-mile range has been reduced from $79,495 to $76,995, a $2,500 decrease. The top-tier Platinum and Platinum Black trims, both with a 300-mile range, remain unchanged at $84,995 and $92,995, respectively.
These price adjustments come after a series of price hikes earlier in the year, driven by rising material costs and other factors. Ford’s decision to lower prices on certain trims is aimed at making the F-150 Lightning more competitive in the growing EV market and to ensure that customers can benefit from federal tax incentives.
The F-150 Lightning continues to be the best-selling electric pickup in the U.S., with strong demand and a reputation for combining robust performance with advanced technology. The latest price adjustments are expected to further boost its appeal to both individual buyers and commercial customers.
Ford’s recent price adjustments for the 2024 F-150 Lightning reflect a strategic move to enhance market competitiveness and customer access to EV incentives. By balancing price reductions and maintaining profitability, Ford aims to solidify the F-150 Lightning’s position as a leading electric pickup truck.
