Ford F-150 Faces Third Recall In Australia Over Non-Compliance Issue

Ford’s F-150 in Australia has encountered its third recall since its introduction, this time due to a non-compliance issue affecting the pickup trucks. Ford Australia has initiated another recall for the F-150, affecting a total of 2020 vehicles due to a fault rendering them non-compliant with local road regulations.

This recall specifically pertains to the long-wheelbase variants of the Ford F-150, which were manufactured in the US between 2021 and 2023 but underwent right-hand drive conversion in Australia last year.

According to Ford’s recall notice, “The vehicle may have been fitted with side direction indicator lamps that do not comply with the Australian Design Rule (ADR) 13/00 Installation of Lighting and Light Signalling Devices on other than L-Group Vehicles.”

While the fault does not pose a safety hazard and does not affect the vehicle’s performance, the affected vehicles are not compliant with ADR 13/00 standards. Owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted by Ford Australia once the necessary parts become available for rectification, and the repairs will be conducted free of charge.

For further information regarding the recall, owners can contact Ford’s Customer Relationship Centre at 13 36 73. This marks the third recall for the right-hand drive converted F-150, following previous notices related to a loss of steering control risk and a separate clock spring fault.
