Ford Australia recently made adjustments to the pricing of its Ranger lineup, implementing increases of up to $1250 following specification changes earlier this year. These adjustments position the entry-level Ford Ranger XL single cab chassis 4×2 at a starting price of $36,880 before on-road costs. Among the alterations, Ford decided to remove automatic high-beam functionality from all variants of the Platinum and Raptor models.
Additionally, the company has discontinued several configurations, including the XLS 4×2 dual-cab ute, XL Bi-Turbo 4×2 dual cab chassis, XL Bi-Turbo super-cab 4×2 ute, and the limited edition Wildtrak X.
Furthermore, Ford streamlined its option packages, eliminating off-road packs for 4×2 XL and XLT models. On the flip side, the company introduced feature enhancements such as the standard inclusion of a Towing Pack and Tech Pack for the Ranger XLS.
Notably, the Ranger lineup now boasts the Pro Trailer Backup Assist feature, available as part of the optional Touring Pack for select models. This system facilitates trailer maneuvering and enhances driving convenience. Expanding on convenience features, Ford has broadened the availability of its Flexible Rack System, which was previously exclusive to the Platinum and Wildtrak X variants.
This system allows users to customize the load-carrying capacity of their Ranger pickup, enhancing practicality and versatility. Under the hood, the 2024 Ford Ranger offers a variety of drivetrains to suit different preferences and needs. Options include a 2.0-liter four-cylinder single turbo-diesel engine and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder Bi-Turbo diesel engine, with top-tier models equipped with a potent 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V6 engine.
Fuel efficiency varies across the lineup, with combined fuel consumption ranging from 6.9L/100km to 8.4L/100km, depending on the model and drivetrain configuration. In terms of warranty and servicing, the Ranger lineup is covered by a five-year, unlimited-kilometer warranty, aligning with Ford’s commitment to customer satisfaction and reliability.
Additionally, Ford offers various optional equipment packages, including wheel packs, canopies, and auxiliary switches, allowing customers to tailor their Ranger to their specific requirements and preferences. These options further enhance the utility and appeal of Ford’s popular pickup truck.
